Biography: Sathyan qualified at the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1998. Sathyan worked in Birmingham for the next four and a half years before purchasing 57 Friar Gate. He has placed a great deal of time and effort in modernising the practice. But not even the success of 57 Friar Gate has shaddowed his love of dentistry.Sathyan is a member of the British Dental Association (BDA) and the American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). He has completed a One-Year Course in Implantology in London and has held the postion of President of the Birmingham Young Dentists Association in 2000. He has completed training in Clearstep (invisible braces for adults and children) and is a Gold member of British Dental Bleaching Society (BDBS London - Linda Greenwall tutored 2009). He has attained Denplan Excel status in 2011 (where the practice had to conform to rigorous standards of health and safety including infection control, patient services and where our treatment has to comply with the highest guidlines, beyond what is required by law in the UK). As an advocate of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), he attends many courses around the world to keep ahead of the changes in modern thinking in Dentistry. His has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, implants, smile makeovers and crown and bridge work. He is currently a full-time dentist at the practice. He has also been responsible for coaching many prospectinve dental students (the future of dentistry !) in the essentials and practicality of the profession.

Biography: I studied dental hygiene therapy at the Birmingham University Dental School. I gained a wide range of skills, particularly in the field of paediatric dentistry. Prior to becoming a dental hygiene therapist, I was a qualified dental nurse, from 2009. In that capacity I have had the pleasure of previously working with the team at 57 Friar Gate for 4 years. Since my progression into dental hygiene treatment, I have taken a particular interest and great pride in improving the oral hygiene of patients, to maximise the longevity of their teeth. I am extremely passionate about restorative dentistry and insistent in achieving the maximum cosmetic finish with my restorations. I was recently invited to attend a course in Switzerland, hosted by the dental company, Ivoclar Viva Dent to further my knowledge and hone my skills in my approach towards cosmetic dentistry. I strongly believe in the holistic care of patients and believe that each person and their expectations are different. I therefore take great care in adopting an approach that allows me to deliver the best dental experience that will cater for each person's individual needs.
