About Bothwell Dental Care
All aspects of dentistry are offered by this dental clinic located at Bothwell in Glasgow. The team is committed to continuous training and treat patients using the most up to date technology and techniques. Preventive dentistry and the long term dental and oral health of patients is the primary concern of the team. Biography: BDS (Glas) GDC 63216 My role as a dentist has developed greatly since qualifying in 1988 from Glasgow University. I have been looking after patients in Bothwell since 1996.My passion is caring for my patients and providing the best possible standard of treatment, whether simple or complex. I enjoy having time to talk to and listen to my patients, understanding their treatment needs, and offering a wide range of treatment options. I have devoted the past few years to developing my skills and knowledge in restorative, advanced restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry and have committed over 75 hours postgraduate education per year developing these interests. I particularly enjoy providing my patients with predictable aesthetic smiles and creating teeth with natural form and lasting function. When I am not working in practice I spend time with my two teenage children who keep me exceptionally busy, both with schoolwork and their many hobbies. My own hobbies include running and keeping fit and socializing with friends. I played trumpet from an early age and have played in many bands, orchestras and shows. I recently switched to playing cornet and subsequently have become a member of one of the top brass bands in the country.

Biography: BDS (Glas) MJDFRCS (Eng) GDC 60004 I was born and brought up in nearby Hamilton and graduated in dentistry from Glasgow University in 1985 with distinction passes in Medical Chemistry and Dental Technology and Materials Science.After 7 years in practice I set up the Village Dental Surgery in 1993 with one dental nurse. The practice now employs 12 members of staff and provides a comprehensive dental service. I have dedicated my career to continuously improving the quality of care I provide to my patients by actively committing to further education and training. I have trained and worked with orthodontic consultants at Glasgow Dental School and Hairmyres Hospital. Having completed recognised implant and cosmetic dentistry programs in England I now receive referrals from other dentists to provide these services. I was awarded The Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of The Royal College of Surgeons in 2009. As an active member of The Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (FGDP), I now tutor other dentists seeking to gain the MJDF diploma. I am an Invisalign accredited dentist, a member of the Association of Dental Implantology and have access to a network of dental specialists to enable my patients to receive the best possible dental care. I believe that all patients should have the option to choose the dentistry they need to maintain a healthy mouth and attractive smile for life.

Biography: BDS (Glas) FDSRCS (Eng) GDC 70499 I graduated from Glasgow University with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery in 1995. I was awarded the final year prize in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology before commencing a year of postgraduate training in Edinburgh.From 1996 to 2000 I worked and trained in the hospital based dental speciality of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. My resident postings were in the South West of England in both civilian and mixed civilian/armed force units where as part of a multi-disciplinary team, I treated everything from wisdom teeth removal and broken facial bones to advanced trauma and cancer cases.In 1999 I gained my Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in England. I left the hospital service in 2000 and worked in general dental practice in both England and my native Scotland. I was a visiting Specialist Doctor of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery based in Torbay Hospital in Devon. In addition to my years of hospital surgery training, I have undertaken extensive postgraduate training throughout Europe and the USA in implant dentistry and its associated procedures.I combine the need for implant dentistry with the growing demand for smile design based cosmetic dental procedures. To facilitate this type of dentistry, I have undertaken advanced cosmetic dental training with the world famous New York based cosmetic dentist Dr Larry Rosenthal in both Guys Hospital London and The Rosenthal Institute in New York University in the USA. My skills in implant dentistry are sought after throughout the UK working with dentists in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland. I am a senior tutor in implant training at the Dentale Centre in Bristol where over 1000 implants are placed every year. My knowledge and experience in implant and cosmetic dentistry ensures that we can offer our patients a service second to none in Scotland.
