About Carysfort Clinic
Elizabeth Monahan is an Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. In her analytic clinic the client is given a chance to speak about whatever is worrying them, hence the description 'talking cure'. Allowing free speech in a confidential secure setting allows the hidden influences unfold giving the client the opportunity to unravel causes of: depression; anxiety; stress; lack of self esteem; fears and phobias; gender identity or sexuality issues; bullying in the school or work place: addictions; eating disorders; or bereavement issues.
Psychoanalysis is a specialized non-directive form of therapy which recognizes the influence our families, environment and childhood have on us.
Through speaking the analyst can recognize patterns and hidden unconscious influences on the way we lead our lives. This recognition allows the client to make new choices, to decide how to tackle unproductive behaviour and how to find a new freedom
