About Cathays Dental Practice
This Cardiff dental practice offers a range of dental services and specialist oral surgery services to patients. Dental services provided include restorations manufactured the same day using the CEREC system, teeth whitening using take home teeth whitening trays or a 40 minute in surgery whitening system, placement of crowns, bridges, veneers and Lumineers to improve the appearance of the smile, placing white fillings over cavities, cosmetic bonding and fitting Invisalign braces to correct the alignment of teeth. The services of a highly qualified dental surgeon for bone grafting extractions and oral pathology are also available.

Biography: BSc (Hons.), BDS, MFDS RCS (Eng.)Dr. Koochek qualified as a dental surgeon from University of Wales College of Medicine Dental School, Cardiff, in 1999. As well as his BDS dental degree, he was awarded a BSc (Honours) degree in Dental Sciences and also achieved a number of academic distinctions and clinical national prizes. Following this, he was made an honorary member of the alumni association of clinicians of the American Dental Association (ADA).After working in a Cardiff dental practice for a year, he moved to London and applied his skills in the restorative and maxillofacial surgery departments at Guy’s & St.Thomas’ Hospitals. He was awarded the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MFDS RCS Eng.) in 2001, and became an associate member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FGDP RCS Eng.) in the same year. Dr. Koochek has been the author of 3 publications in American and British peer-reviewed dental journals.Dr. Koochek has been a partner in the Cathays Dental Clinic since 2001, and continually keeps up to date with all the modern techniques and latest advances in dentistry. He is a member of the International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics (IAAFA) and has completed a qualification in Dental Implant Surgery. His main interests include cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, orthodontics (Invisalign certified) and facial aesthetics.

Biography: BDS (Wales), Dip, Pg (Wales)Dr Gracias qualified as a Dental Surgeon in 1998 from the University Of Wales College Of Medicine. After working in general practice and teaching in numerous hospitals he moved to the Cathays Dental Practice in late 2000 where he has worked since. Dr Gracias has built up a reputation for clinical excellence in aesthetic dentistry and is an associate member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists as well as an associate member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FGDP RCS Eng). In 2006 he was filmed for television commercial and national advertising campaign promoting Sensodyne toothpaste. He is currently studying for a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies and has completed a Certificate in Dental Implant Surgery. His main interests include Cosmetic Dentistry, Facial Aesthetics, Orthodontics ( Invisalign certified ) and Dental Implants.
