Biography: After graduating from Nair Hospital Dental College, Bombay, Dr.Bhatavadekar completed a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Florida where he studied the use of bone grafts and tissue engineering membranes. Concurrent with post graduate training in Periodontology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he has completed a Masters in Public Health. He currently holds adjunct faculty appointments in the Department of Periodontology at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston, the Department of Bioengineering at Rice University, and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to being the only Diplomate of the prestigious American Board of Periodontology in India, he is also a reviewer for the Journal of Periodontology, on the editorial board for Dentistry India, the journal of the Indian Dental Association, and has been a consultant for dental implant companies in Europe. Dr.Bhatavadekar has numerous publications in International peer-reviewed journals.
