Biography: Dr. Michel Gagner was born in 1960 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He earned a degree in Pure Sciences and Health Sciences at the Séminaire de Sherbrooke in 1978 and his MD from the Medical Faculty of the University of Sherbrooke in 1982. He completed his surgical residency at McGill University in Montreal 1982 -1988. During his residency he will do 2 years of post-doctoral studies (Ph.D.) as part of a program on "human lipolysis in sepsis" at Victoria Hospital, McGill University. He then moved to France, to make a hepato-biliary surgery fellowship at the Hospital City Jew in Paris. He finished his training by completing a second fellowship in pancreatico-gall surgery and digestive at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston, from 1989 to 1990.
