Biography: Dr Piotr Gierej, M.D., is a specialist in general surgery and oncological surgery, having completed his medical studies at the Second Medical Faculty of the Warsaw Medical University. In 2017, he obtained his doctoral degree in medical sciences. Dr Piotr Gierej, MD, is a member of the Polish Society of Oncological Surgery.He gained his professional experience working in the surgical team of the Brachytherapy Department at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska Oncology Centre in Warsaw, then in the Surgical Department of the Oncology Clinic of the Oncology Centre in Warsaw. For 6 years he was associated with the Department of General, Transplantation and Liver Surgery at the SPCSK in Warsaw, also working in the liver transplantation team. In 2015, he completed his 4-year doctoral studies at the First Faculty of Medicine of the WUM. Since 2014, he has been affiliated with the Department of Breast Cancer and Reconstructive Surgery at the Oncology Centre in Warsaw, where he works as a senior assistant.Dr Piotr Gierej, M.D., has extensive experience in performing procedures in a wide range of general and oncological surgery, with breast surgery being the Doctor's leading interest for several years. Biography: Graduate of the Silesian Medical University (SlAM) in Katowice, and a PhD student at the Medical University of Warsaw (WIM). He began his adventure with surgery at the First Department of General Surgery of SlAM. Simultaneously, he worked as a volunteer and then as an assistant at the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Mining Hospital in Sosnowiec. He was the Head of the Provincial Plastic Surgery Clinic in Katowice from 2000 to 2005.He completed an internship at the Roland Clinic in Bremen in 2005.He was the Deputy Head of the Clinic and Department of Reconstructive Surgery at the Silesian Medical University until the unit was dissolved in 2007.He worked at the Department of Plastic Surgery at the St. Kamila Hospital in Tarnowskie Góry.He was a Consultant at the Department of Severe Burn Treatment and Plastic Surgery in Gryfice from 2007 to 2009.Currently, he is a consultant at the Eastern Center for Burn Treatment in Łęczna.He is actively involved with the Polish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery (PTCHPRiE) and the Polish Society of Burn Treatment (PTLO).
