Biography: Dr. Catherine Haywood graduated from the  (Victoria, British Columbia) with a Bachelors of Science degree in 1991. She then graduated from  in 1995, and completed Fellowship residency training in Plastic Surgery at the University of Toronto.Dr. Haywood is certified in Plastic Surgery by the . She is a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and participates in continuing medical education accreditation through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.Dr. Haywood is also a member of the  and the.Dr. Haywood has participated in numerous research projects. Most notably she was awarded the John Edward deToro Prize for Best Clinical Research at the. In addition, she received the Dr. F.M. Woolhouse award for Clinical Research presented by the Canadian Plastic Surgery Society. She has published research papers in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal as well as in the Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Haywood received a Gemini Award in 2001 as a medical contributor of the lifestyle series "Skin Deep".Dr. Haywood is actively involved with medical education. During her training she was noted for her teaching by the Toronto General Hospital, and was awarded the Dr. A.W. Harrison Teaching Award by Sunnybrook Hospital. In addition the University of Toronto Department of Surgery awarded her the Dr. D.R. Wilson Award for Most Outstanding Teacher as rated by the undergraduate students in her last year of training.
