Biography: Graduated in 1998 from dentistry. Shortly after his graduation he moved to Manitoba where he practiced in remote communities for 2 years. In 2002 he returned to BC and since then he has been involved in teaching part-time at UBC. He had his own private practice in South Delta prior to deciding to complete the Endodontic Graduate program at UBC. His research topic was titled "Irrigation protocols used by dentists in BC". He is A fellow of the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, A fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and a member of the American Association of Endodontists. Dr. Abtin has been extensively involved with community volunteering work, and he was recognized by North Shore News on April 2008. He is married to Nahid, a general medical practitioner in North Vancouver.
