Biography: She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2005 and achieved her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2008, with a special interest in Obesity Medicine. As your Bariatric Physician, Dr Cheong will meet you prior to your surgery to provide education and a further insight into what to expect following your surgery.

Biography: After graduating from Curtin University as a pharmacist, Michael studied medicine at Flinders University in South Australia. Following graduation Michael returned to Perth for internship at Fremantle Hospital and commenced general surgical training, rotating through all the major teaching hospitals in Perth including working with Kevin Dolan. On completion of subspecialty training in general surgery, Micahel undertook a further three years of post fellowship training in upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. These included one year at Fremantle Hospital, and two years were spent within the ANZGOSA (Australian and New Zealand Gastro Oesophageal Surgery Association) training program at St George Hospital, Sydney and The Austin Hospital, Melbourne. Michael has returned to Perth to join the bariatric unit at WALOS.
