Biography: Graduated the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. After working for a few years in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital, she decided upon a career change and returned to university. Biography: She has been involved in the dental profession for over thirty years. In her country of origin, the Ukraine, she obtained a Master's degree and a PhD in business administration and management. For ten years, Polina managed a staff of over thirty people in a multidisciplinary dental facility, until she and her family immigrated to Canada in 1994.

Always striving to educate herself, Pia joined Dr. Shiewitz's dental practice as a certified dental chairside assistant in 2004. Since that time, she has furthered her education, and graduated as a registered dental hygienist in 2009.
