Biography: Positions such as the Head of Department of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery and Director of the Cleft and Craniofacial Centre at KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital. A/Prof Yeow received the Public Service Medal from the President of Singapore in 2005 after leading a team of medical volunteers to set up a treatment centre in Banda Aceh in the immediate aftermath of the tsunami that struck Aceh in December 2004. A/Prof Yeow was also awarded the SAF Overseas Operational Medal from the Singapore Armed Forces, The Liberation of Kuwait Medal from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Operation Desert Storm Campaign Medal from HM Forces, United Kingdom.Obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees in Singapore, he went on to specialise in surgery and acquired certifications in Edinburgh and Glasgow. He further obtained sub-specialisation certification in Plastic Surgery from the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and has held positions such as the President of the Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons. In recognition of his regional and international standing, A/Prof Yeow is also on the Executive Council of the Asian Pacific Craniofacial Society as well as the ASEAN Federation of Plastic Surgeons. A/Prof Yeow is the only Singaporean to be accorded full membership to the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery.
