About Edinburgh Physiotherapy Centre
Pain relief and promoting good health is the aim of the Physiotherapy Centre (Edinburgh & Glasgow). Conditions treated include chronic and complex pain, sports injuries, back and neck pain, headaches and migraines, TMJ pain and stress related issues.
A range of therapies are offered in addition to physiotherapy. These therapies include acupuncture, pregnancy and fertility acupuncture, facial rejuvenation acupuncture, dry needling, exercise therapy, Bowen therapy, deep tissue massage and swedish massage therapy and facials.
The clinic also stocks a range of products from memory foam matresses and pillows to massage lotions.
We've recently introduced a range of facial treatments which not only treat your skin, we use specific gentle massage techniques to relieve stress, headaches and jaw pain.Staff

Ms Kirsten Lord

Biography: Kirsten completed her Physiotherapy degree in Adelaide, Australia in 1989. She moved to Edinburgh in 1991 and in 1992 founded The Edinburgh Physiotherapy Centre. Through extensive postgraduate training she has gained standards of excellence in treatment of sporting injuries, RSI, spinal pain and chronic pain. Her previous studies in music also help her understand and treat many professional musicians. In addition to treating a wide range of spinal and joint problems, her versatility and experience has also allowed her to work with Olympic sportspersons and professional actors, such as with her commission as on-site Physio for 'The Jacket', a George Clooney production.

Ms Thirza Gibson

Biography: Thirza graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2005. She then did a broad-ranging 4-year stint in the NHS in Glasgow, followed by a year travelling. Thirza then took herself off to Belfast where she held a locum position and saw private patients before joining us in Edinburgh. Thirza has worked extensively with athletes across the board, including working as a volunteer physiotherapist at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Ms Liz Wright

Biography: During her sporting career Liz had the chance to work alongside a physiotherapist to the élite prior to taking up her position at Elite Physical Medicine where she learnt a great deal about assessment and diagnosis of a whole range of conditions. At this time she also worked with Winslow Football Team, Aylesbury Rugby Club, and Buckinghamshire County Rugby U20s. Her career then took her to Kensington Physio & Sport Medicine. At the Physio Centre in Edinburgh, Liz has developed a varied musculoskeletal caseload, treating complex cases with expert manual therapy, rehabilitation therapy, and educating her patients about their conditions to maximise compliance and the end result.
