EuroMediCare Hospital is a multi-profile, surgical and specialist hospital with a outpatient clinic.
Since 2002, it has been providing patients from Wroclaw, Lower Silesia and whole Poland with modern, minimally invasive diagnostic and surgical methods. It has four air-conditioned operating rooms, endoscopy units and diagnostic imaging unit. Patients are hospitalised in single, double or three-bed rooms with a bathroom, TV and Internet access. The Department for Individual Care of a Patient is in charge of taking care of patient’s comfort.
Bariaric surgeries
The aim of a bariatric surgery is to modify the patient's digestive tract in order to reduce the number of calories consumed and ensure that teh patient is discomfort-free after the surgery.
All bariatric surgeries are performed by laparoscopy. The surgical procedures performed in our hopsital are in line with the current state of medical knowledge and global medical trends.

Biography: Rafal Mulek, MD, general and vascular surgery specialis, surgical treatment of obesity Graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Wroclaw Medical University. He completed the specialization from general surgery at the Department of General Surgery at a hospital in Glogów, Poland His medical interests are focused on minimally invasive procedures in general and vascular surgery, as well as surgical treatment of obesity – which he has been dealing with for 7 years.Medical services: Sleeve gastrectomy The procedur is recommended for people suffering from severe obesity and those suffering from chronic diseases (e.g. hypertension). The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. The effectiveness of the procedure is very high and guarantees spectacular effects. Sleeve gastrectomy is also accompanied by the disappearance of other diseases related to the development of excess weight and obesity. During the surgery about 2/3 of the stomach is resected, causing an irreversible reduction of its volume, shortening of the digestion process and radical decrease of hunger. Why? During the surgery, usually laparoscopic, a part of stomach in which ghrelin is secreted is resected. After the surgery the patient remains at the in-hospital observation and usually returns to the normal physical activity after a few weeks. The method is not of a definitive character – in case of a failure it is possible to perform an additional procedure (RYGB). Gastric bypass Incredibly effective bariatic surgery. The procedure is particularly recommended to people suffering from advanced obesity – those affected with type-2 diabetes and to whom traditional methods of weight loss proved to be ineffective. Gastric bypass implantation is a guarantee of excess weight reduction – even up to 85%. The effectiveness of this method is based on the reduced stomach volume – ingesting large amount of food is simply impossible.The surgery consists of creation of a small, about 50 mL in volume, pouch from the upper stomach and making anastomosis, which results in shortening of digestive process and improvement of glucose metabolism (treatment of diabetes). The method is perfect when other weight loss plans are not effective. It is especially recommended to very obese people and those suffering from diabetes. The patient is hospitalised for a few days after the surgery. During the procedure a modification of the gastrointestinal tract is performed – we observe shorter digestion time.
