Dr Shaun Thompson

Biography: Dr. Shaun A. Thompson is an American dentist who has practiced in Singapore since 2009. As an American trained dentist, he is able to deliver the highest standard of care in a unique way that makes both his expatriate and local patients feel at home. He received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with honors/ leadership awards from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry in Memphis. He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (currently pursuing the prestigious Diplomate status), American Dental Association, Singapore Dental Association and the Aesthetic Dentistry Society of Singapore (AAED/IFED). He practices general family dentistry with keen interests in cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, and dental sleep medicine (i.e. snoring & sleep apnea). He and his wife enjoy exploring Southeast Asia. His recreational interests include scuba diving, flying, golf, athletics and travel. He also has led various humanitarian efforts around the world, most recently in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Biography: Dr. Matt Thompson is an American dentist who moved to Singapore from the United States (Nashville, Tennessee) in 2013 and has experience practicing dentistry in both the US and Singapore. With a commitment to excellence and extensive training, Matt provides first-class care with a personalized and welcoming style.Matt graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA. He subsequently earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry in Memphis, where he earned numerous awards and scholarships and graduated with high honors.He is currently a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Singapore Dental Association (SDA).He practices general family dentistry with concentrations in endodontics (i.e. root canal therapy), oral surgery, implants and cosmetic dentistry.In his free time, Matt enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, and golf. Biography: Zanelle joined the ExpatDental team after spending several years in private practice in Australia. She completed her Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Queensland where she graduated with Honors in 2009. Since then, she has maintained a strong interest in continued development, attending several conferences and courses to ensure her skills and knowledge remain at the forefront of dental care.Zanelle strives to provide her patients with the highest level of care and takes pride in providing excellent dentistry. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular interest in creating confident smiles, managing phobic patients, and caring for young patients. She understands that the dental experience can often be challenging for many but believes that her individual and empathetic approach will allow the optimal necessary treatment in a comfortable environment. Biography: Originally from Korea, fluent in Korean and English, Iris had Iived in the States for over 10 years before moving to Singapore in early 2015. She earned her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene with Summa Cum Laude from Lansing Community College, Lansing, Michigan, in 2011. Iris also graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University, Cheney, Washington, in 2013. She is currently a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association.Iris loves to travel around the world and meet new people. Her bubbly and caring personality helps her to make people feel welcome and well taken care of. Building close relationships between her and her patients is what motivates her to go to work every day. Iris is also a big fan of the movies and can confidently tell you all about it if you name her one. Biography: Lay Soon is a bilingual registered Dental Hygienist who practiced and taught in Washington State. She earned her Associate of Applied Sciences Degrees in Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene with Honors from Lake Washington Institute of Technology, Kirkland WA. She also graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration with distinction and a Masters of Science in Oral Biology from the University of Washington, Seattle WA. She expanded her dental hygiene career teaching as a lead instructor at Clark College, Vancouver WA.While in the United States, Lay Soon worked for one of the most progressive practices in Seattle. Other significant experiences include treating special needs patients and patients with dental fear/anxiety, and presenting at dental conferences. She earned the Lifelong Learning Grant by Washington State Dental Hygienists’ Association in 2009. Her research poster was awarded the Merit Prize during the Scientific Poster Competition at the Asia Pacific Dental Congress 2015 in Singapore.Born in Singapore, Lay returned in 2012 and is currently teaching as a Senior Lecturer at Nanyang Polytechnic. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Washington State Dental Hygienists’ Association and Singapore Dental Association. In her free time, Lay enjoys swimming, photography, reading and hiking.

Biography: Head of Clinic OperationsGladys received her Degree in Dental Medicine from the University of the Philippines in 2001 with an outstanding graduate medal from the International College of Dentists. She practiced general dentistry in Manila, Philippines for four years before moving overseas with her family. Since moving to Singapore in 2006, she has been involved in singing with choir groups. She returned to dentistry in 2012 and has quickly reacquainted herself with the dental office environment. After joining ExpatDental in April 2013, she has acquired skills in new advancements in dental technology and is handling purchasing and dental assisting. Her favorite book of all time is Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.
