Biography: Comes with impressive credentials, qualifications and expertise in ophthalmologic disciplines.He graduated with an M.B.B.S. from the University of Singapore on an ASEAN scholarship, and obtained his FRCS and RCPS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, after which he was appointed Honorary Registrar at the Moorfield Eye Hospital. From 1979 until 1982, he worked under Dr. D.P. Choyce, one of the world expert in intraocular lens implantations. Dr. Lim is also a member of the Malaysian Academy of Medicine, and was formerly a consultant in ophthalmology at University of Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur.Apart from this Dr. Lim’s many accolades and accomplishments also includes a host of first-time achievements such as:1993 to introduce PRK in Malaysia.1997 to introduce LASIK in Malaysia.2000 to introduce SRP or Surgical Reversal of Presbyopia in Malaysia.2000 to introduce Customised LASIK or Eagle Eye Vision in Malaysia.2001 to introduce LASER PHACO Cataract Surgery in Malaysia and South East Asia.He has been doing sutureless cataract surgery since 1993 and using multifocal intraocular lens since 1992. 2mm micro incision cataract surgery (MICS) was performed by Dr. Lim in 2003 and by 2007 he improved to 1.7mm micro incision cataract surgery.
