Biography: Shaun is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). He has been providing physiotherapy to the Wigan and St Helens area since qualifying from Teesside University in 1996. Shaun has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of managing muscle and joint problems, having worked continuously in the local NHS, privately at Fairfield Independent Hospital and with Professional Rugby League teams. In 2006 Shaun successfully completed a Master’s degree in Neuromusculosketal Dysfunction at Manchester University and more recently has been working as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner and Physiotherapy Team leader. This comprehensive knowledge and experience has provided Shaun with an appreciation of all aspects of managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal complaints and injuries. Having worked closely with podiatrists for several years, Shaun has specialised in the management of lower limb injuries, combining knowledge of lower limb biomechanics (function) and rehabilitation. Shaun prides himself on always providing the highest standard of care to his clients, offering a thorough assessment and a tailored course of treatment to assist clients with the management of their condition. A strong emphasis is always placed on patient education, which is essential to help sufferers manage their symptoms, an aspect unfortunately sometimes neglected by other healthcare providers.
