Biography: My name is Joanna Wisniewska, I was born in Poland and came to Canada in 1992. As a child, I was very fearful of the dental office. My personal experience of going through dental treatment in Canada was what initially led me to consider a career as a dental hygienist. As I underwent dental treatment, I quickly developed a strong bond with the staff that was overseeing my treatment. It was this positive experience that motivated me to work in a central Mississauga dental office and help those who experience dental anxiety, the same way I did as a child. In 1995 I became a Certified Dental Assistant and worked for four years as a dental assistant. I further continued my studies to become a Registered Dental Hygienist at Niagara College in Welland, Ontario and graduated in 2001. I have had many amazing employment opportunities as a dental hygienist over the years. Since March 2003, I have been working with Dr. David Fortinsky in Mississauga and I continue to provide dental hygiene care for his clients.
