About Greenwood Park Dentistry
Proven technology and evidence based techniques are used at this dental clinic to provide a high level of dental care for patients. The clinic is located at Kingston in Ontario. Preventive dentistry and the long term dental and oral health of patients is the primary concern of the team. The aim of the team is to help patients achieve and maintain excellent dental health and beautiful smiles for a lifetime. Services at the clinic include examinations and hygiene services, general dental care, children’s dentistry, sedation dentistry, implant dentistry for patients with missing teeth and cosmetic smile makeovers.

Biography: On completion of his undergraduate education, he next began his graduate education by completing a Doctorate Degree in Dental Surgery (DDS) from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. During this time he took particular interest in Oral and Implant Surgery, choosing electives in both. These electives encouraged him to pursue even further training after graduation, in the form of a hospital residency program. This residency program was through both the Vancouver General Hospital and University of British Columbia in Vancouver. The training he has received has allowed him to administer different forms of sedation, from intravenous (IV) to oral sedation and laughing gas. The program has also allowed him to become competent in all aspect of Implant Dentistry (surgical, bone grafting and prosthetics), oral and periodontal surgery. Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of his residency training however, is his confidence in treating medically compromised patients, both mental and/or physical. He attributes his professional strengths to his residency training along with active memberships with many dental societies and strong involvement in continued dental education.

Biography: On completion of her first undergraduate degree, she was then accepted to the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University in pursuit of a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. This education became official upon successful completion of the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board examinations, making her a board certified Dental Hygienist. During her intense education at Dalhousie she took interest in all aspects of modern preventative dentistry, however she was particularly focused on periodontal, preventative and restorative dentistry. This interest served as her objective to continue her education all the way to Vancouver British Columbia, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a major in Dental Hygiene from the University of British Columbia. This additional training has provided her with an expanded repertoire of professional skills; including the administering of local anaesthetics, restorative dentistry, preventative dental hygiene and research interest becoming an adjunct to her full professional skill set previously attained. Jillian has always maintained an active membership status on a national level with the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association as well as on all provincial and municipal levels. She is currently an active member with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries and the Kingston District Dental Hygiene Society. Jillian keeps continued education as a strong professional and personal priority. She maintains a current awareness of updates and dental related professional change, by way of her attendance at national and provincial conferences and meetings, taking part in online educational webinars, reading journals, textbooks and using the internet as a regular mechanism for retrieving current information.
