Egg Donation at Instituto Bernabeu
Given the experience they have, a large number of oocyte donations in their repository and the social and cultural status of donors, they can guarantee that:• You will not have to wait.• The clinic will conduct rigorous medical and genetic screenings of donor candidates.• The clinic will select the most compatible donor from a medical perspective.• The clinic will assign an exclusive donor for each recipient, which results in a better quality of oocytes and a higher number for donation. Instituto Bernabeu guarantees an average donation of 12 oocytes and a minimum amount of 8 and they will perform a thorough selection of physical characteristics that are similar to the recipients.• The clinics keep in donor DNA repository a sample of your donor, in cases where diagnosis and analysis of a specific genetic disease are required for the future newborn.
In order to ensure maximum suitability and a safe process, Instituto Bernabeu follows very thorough procedures to select the most appropriate donor for each recipient in order to ensure the greatest compatibility as regards medical history, genetics and physical characteristics. Biography: Dr Joaquín Llácer was born in Enguera (Valencia) in July 1965. He graduated with a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Valencia in 1989 and completed his internal medicine residency in the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Unit of the “La Fe” University Hospital of Valencia (1991-1994).He became a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1994, and is a member of the board of directors of Instituto Bernabeu. Biography: Dr Belen Moliner earned her medical degree from the University of Lleida and her specialty in obstetrics and gynaecology from the University Clinical Hospital of Valencia. After completing her research work and doctoral thesis, she focused on the field of reproductive medicine and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Valencia. She is certified Level 3 in gynaecological and obstetrical ultrasound from the ValldHebron University Hospital.After her training in Valencia, she specialised in Reproductive Medicine in the Assisted Reproduction Unit of the Canary Island University Hospital, a leading centre in this region. Dr José Manuel Gómez Santana

Biography: Dr Gómez earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University Miguel Hernandez in 2000 and completed his research work in its Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department in 2003. Biography: Dr Jorge Ten earned his bachelor and doctorate degrees in Biology at the University of Valencia in 1994 and 1998, respectively.He has been part of the Instituto Bernabeu team since October 1997, where he currently directs the Biology of Reproduction Operational Unit. Since 2008, he has been an Associate Professor of the Biotechnology Department at the University of Alicante and a Professor of the Human Reproduction Masters programme at the Complutense University of Madrid. He was certified as a Senior Clinical Embryologist by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and by the Spanish Association for the Study of Biology of Reproduction (ASEBIR). He has contributed to over 40 publications in top scientific journals, one hundred presentations in scientific conferences in the specialty and has participated in 20 research and development projects. He is the editor of prestigious scientific journals such as Reproductive Biomedicine Online, Fertility and Sterility, and Reproductive Sciences.

Dr Belén Lledó

Biography: Belén Lledó earned her PhD degree from the University of Alicante in 2005. She completed her training while collaborating with the Human Genetic Centre in Alicante, where she deepened her knowledge of the Prenatal Diagnosis, Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and genetics.After studying at the University of Cambridge, she joined Instituto Bernabeu Alicante in 2004, where she first worked in the Embryology laboratory. Nowadays, she has become in the Director of the Molecular Biology and Genetics Department. She has published a dozen articles in different scientific journals in the molecular biology and genetics field. She is currently the scientific director of IB Biotech, the IB group’s genetics company. Her current scientific interests have focused on the genetic study of embryo implantation failure.

Biography: Graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine at the Madrid Autonomous University, passing the board exam in 1986. He is specialised in Urology (Medical residency) having been trained in the Department of Urology at the San Carlos University Hospital, Madrid. He has the title Doctor of Urology from the Complutense University in Madrid. The title of his doctorate thesis was: “PROSTATISM: CONTRACTILITY OF THE DETRUSOR VERSUS LOWER URINARY TRACT OBSTRUCTION”. He has been a Board Certified Specialist Physician in the Department of Urology since 1994 under the Valencian Health Agency. Furthermore he has been the Scientific Director of the journal Urodinámica Aplicada (Applied Urodynamics) since 1999 and a member of the drafting team of the Spanish journals Actas Urológicas Españolas (Spanish Urological Records) and Archivos Españoles de Urología (Spanish Urological Archives), after having received himself various awards for scientific publications. Additionally he is a member of multiple scientific societies and the National Coordinator for the group Urología Funcional Femenina and Urodinámica (Feminine Functional Urology and Urodynamics), of the Spanish Urological Association. He was the main researcher in many national and international clinical trials and has also developed various patents. Finally he has published a wealth of articles (120) as well as giving a great deal of presentations at scientific conferences (110).

Biography: Dr Sellers has been part of the INSTITUTO BERNABEU team since 1992 and is currently the director of the Obstetrics Department and the Prenatal Diagnostic Ultrasound Section. In 1980, he earned his bachelor of medicine and surgery and was a surgery intern at the University of Valencia. He became a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1985 at the University Hospital La Fe in Valencia and a nationally qualified obstetrician in 1984.He later worked as a specialist in the regional Marina Alta Hospital in Denia and in the Hospital of Elda from 1986 to 1992. He earned his doctorate in medicine from the University Miguel Hernandez of Elche in 2008 and received training in Level IV obstetrics and gynaecological ultrasound scans from the ultrasound scan section of the Spanish Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.He is the author of 16 publications and 59 national and international communications in his speciality. Dr Dori Rodriguez

Biography: Adoración Rodríguez Arnedo earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and her specialty in biotechnology from the University of Alicante in 1998. She carried out her doctoral thesis in the field of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Proteomics and earned her doctorate in the year 2004. During her thesis research work, she was also an associate professor of university biochemistry and molecular biology classes for biology, chemistry and nursing students.In 2005, she joined Instituto Bernabeu, where she works in the embryology and molecular biology laboratories. She is currently the head embryologist.During this time, she has made many presentations in conferences and published several articles in specialised journals. She was appointed chairman of the 24th ESHRE conference on vitrification in 2008. She is a member of the scientific societies for Assisted Reproduction (ASEBIR) and Molecular Biology (SEBBM).She currently combines her work with research as she focuses her interest on the creation and development of R&D projects.

Mr Jaime Guerrero

Biography: Jaime Guerrero Villena obtained his Bachelor of Biology at the University of Valencia in 2001. In 2005, he earned his Master’s degree in Human reproduction from the Complutense University of Madrid in collaboration with SEF (Spanish Fertility Society). He later earned a Master’s degree in Biotechnology and Biomedicine from the University of Alicante, where he is currently pursuing his doctoral thesis. Since he joined the Instituto Bernabeu team in 2002, he has combined his lab work with research work, which has led him to participate in several conferences and publications in specialised journals. He has also participated in many national and international workshops and conferences. In 2008, he earned the European certification of Senior Clinical Embryologist from ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology) and he later earned the Human Assisted Reproduction certificate from ASEBIR (Spanish Biology of Reproduction Association). He is a member of different scientific societies related to reproductive medicine (ESHRE, ASEBIR and SEF). Throughout all these years, his interest has been especially focused on the field of cryobiology, specifically the cryopreservation of oocytes and embryos. He currently supervises the In Vitro Fertilisation unit of the centre.

Ms Maria Dolores Pérez

Biography: Maria Dolores Pérez Izquierdo got her Biology Degree at the University of Murcia in 2004. In 2005, she earned a Master’s in Biology and Biotechnology of Reproduction at the University of Murcia. That same year she became a member of the Instituto Bernabeu´s team, where she has been developing her research and lab work in our Cartagena clinic until now. She is a member of ASEBIR (Spanish Biology of Reproduction Association) and SEF (Spanish Fertility Society).She also has training as a sexologist, after earning her Master’s degree in Sexology and Couples Therapy in 2009 from the Spanish Clinical Cognitive and Behavioural Psychology Association (AEPCCC).

Biography: Dr Ruth Morales earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Valencia in 2001. She is conducting her doctoral thesis in the Neuroscience Institute in Alicante (UMH-CSIC), in the [Treatment name removed] field and its uses in the cell therapy. After carrying out a course to become specialized in Biology of Reproduction at the University Miguel Hernandez, she started working in the Andrology and Clinical Analysis Department of Instituto Bernabeu, being responsible for the laboratories of the centres IB in Elche and Benidorm.
