Biography: Hello Dear Patient, I am a veterinarian with an MBA degree. I grew up and went to University in Istanbul. I lived in the USA for 17 years and the last 5 years in the UK.  My interest in the field of laser eye surgery started in 1999 when I had my lasik performed by Dr. Oktay Kumral.  It is certainly a passion of mine to see our patients get rid of their eyesight problems and see all so well! Having lived in the USA and now in the UK, I can certainly stand behind the health care system in Istanbul Turkey as topnotch and our surgeon as one of the best and most experienced surgeons in this field. He has experience and results comparable to those surgeons in the famous Harley Street in London and the prices in Turkey are less expensive not only due to currency conversion rates but also high quality health care just isn't as expensive as it is in the UK and USA.  Therefore it is my pleasure to help out anyone who needs help and information. Biography: As an early adopter of technology, eye surgeon Dr Oktay Kumral brought the first Excimer laser device to Istanbul, Turkey in 1992. Since then, he performed thousands of laser vision correction surgeries including his wife, two daughters, most recently his 20 year old grandson. Over the years he has performed PRK, LASIK, LASEK, No-Touch Wavefront, and several other vision correction procedures including cataract surgeries.Biography:Dr.Oktay Kumral, graduated from Istanbul University Capa Faculty of Medical in 1971. Between 1971-1973, he worked as a Surgeon at Watford Hospital in London and Salford Royal Hospital in Manchester (NHS Hospitals).  He completed his specialization in Hacettepe University Department of Ophthalmology. Since then he has practiced at multiple prestigious health centers in Istanbul.Dr.Oktay Kumral contributed to the development of The Excelsius M7 series Excimer Laser device with years of research and collaboration. He is an honorary member of TOD (Turkish Ophthalmology Association) and International Ophthalmology Association He speaks English fluently.
