Biography: (MBBS, MD, FICS) A passionate personality with zeal to serve the society without having any motive for personal benefit. Served Nepalese society for more than two decades in the field of ophthalmic service by doing more than 50,000 cataract surgeries and around 1 Million OPD service for Eye disorders patients. His passion to serve the society at their place has compelled him to do more than 700 surgical camps in remote areas throughout the country. His passion to serve the avoidable blind patients due to cataract surgery has come in his mind from his childhood. While he was studying in class 5 at his native place, he saw the difficulties faced by the bilateral cataract patients then only he had made his aim to become an Ophthalmologist in future and cure the avoidable blindness due to cataract surgery. God has helped him to fulfill his aim. Dr Kamal Bahadur Khadka has completed his MBBS from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) by getting scholarship from Nepal Government and after that again He got the opportunity to study MS in Ophthalmology from the same University. He has secured his FICS (Fellow of International College of Surgeons) degree from USA. He has further done his Training on Phacoemulsification technique of doing cataract surgery from Tokushima University, Japan. After that He become the prominent Master Phaco Trainer and taught many young Ophthalmologists to learn Phaco techniques in Nepal. He has started his Professional career from Gaur Eye hospital, Gaur as Medical Director; He has established this Hospital and spent his more than 10 years there to serve Nepalese and Indian patients. After that He has served the patients from many reputed Institutes of the country like – Himalaya Eye Hospital, Pokhara, Nepal Eye Hospital Kathmandu, Lions Eye Hospital Kathmandu and Bharatpur Eye Hospital in the lead position as Medical Director. He decided to open his own Eye hospital in Kathmandu, Hence He started working as Chief Medical Director at Advanced Eye care & Phaco Center Pvt. Ltd. in association with some partners. Dr Kamal Bahadur Khadka has been awarded by many awards in national and International forums. To list few of them are – Distinguished Service Award by Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology at Thailand, Best Ophthalmologist of the year 2000 in Nepal by NNJS, Bharat Jyoti Award by The International Friendship Society, India and many more letter of appreciations.
