Biography: Senior Physiotherapist Joanne graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2003. During her career she has worked within both the NHS and private sector specialising in musculoskeletal conditions. Through her experience working on both trauma and elective orthopaedic wards, and also various out-patient environments, Joanne has developed a keen interest in post-surgery rehabilitation. Other areas of interest include shoulder rehabilitation and lower limb biomechanical problems. Having trained in dance of various styles from an early age and progressing to study dance she has a good understanding of the relationship between dance technique and injury. At the Newcastle Sports Injury Clinic, Joanne is working closely with local dance groups, professional companies touring in the region and through links with Dance City provides a screening service for dancers at elite level. Joanne’s personal interests include a wide variety of sports having spent some time previously working with the sports development team of her local council. She is a keen netball player and competes regularly in the Tyne and Wear ladies league.
