Biography: He graduated with 1st Class Honours at the University of Sydney in 1989. During his time at university he completed a year of full-time research, obtaining a BSc(Med) with Distinction in 1985. After graduation, he underwent General Surgery Training at Royal North Shore Hospital and after completing his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training, Dr Cope then underwent further specialised training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery including: Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Fellowship training under prominent Sydney plastic and cosmetic surgeons Hand Surgery Fellowship at the Hand Surgery Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital and the New Children’s Hospital Microsurgery Fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, USA (ranked No. 1 cancer hospital in USA). He has acquired a large operative experience, with over 10,000 plastic surgeries performed. As well as his clinical experience, Dr Cope has been involved in research for over 15 years, with recent projects including microvascular anastomotic devices and tissue engineering. Dr Cope has published extensively, with 26 publications and presentations at international and national meetings. He also attends and participates in seminars to provide a continuing high level of expertise in surgical practice in both cosmetic surgery in Sydney and plastic surgery in Sydney.
