Owned and operated by Dr Celia Burns, Nothing But The Tooth offers all types of dentistry from regular maintenance care to adult orthodontics and full smile makeovers. Our "no pain guarantee" means we have many very happy patients who used to be nervous of dental treatment but who now look forward to their visits.

Biography: My first love isn’t teeth; it’s people. That’s why I love being a dentist. It’s the best feeling in the world to be able to help an anxious patient, who has possibly avoided going to the dentist for many years, build their trust in me, and I get a real thrill from helping someone achieve the confidence in their smile that they want. It’s also great fun hearing about their daughter’s wedding, their new teacher, their dog’s operation and their fun run success – whilst trying not to ask them about it when I have a mirror and two cotton rolls in their mouth, of course. I enjoy most aspects of dentistry, and was proud to receive the BDA medal and the Periodontology prize when I qualified in 1987. Since then I have always strived to improve and update my knowledge, and I have particularly enjoyed improving my cosmetic skills so that I can now provide patients with invisible braces and full smile makeovers. I am a full member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists

Biography: I’m Rachel, and I qualified from the University of Bristol in 2004. I then travelled in Europe and Asia, whilst working as a dentist. This gave me a very diverse experience of clinical practice and the opportunity to practise dentistry in some very arduous conditions. I completed my vocational training pathway and was subsequently awarded both the Membership of General Dental Practitioners (2007) and Membership of Joint Dental Faculties (2008). After my years abroad I was ready to relocate to general dental practice. To further my clinical skills and expertise I have undertaken further training in aesthetic and restorative dentistry. I have a holistic approach to dental health, ensuring I provide dental care that is tailored to patients’ needs and wishes. My areas of interest include minimally invasive dentistry and aesthetics dentistry which has enabled me to give many patients smiles that they are delighted with and previously thought not possible. I am a keen sports woman and cook. I have a passion for skiing, sailing and any other water sports but it is my twin girls who generally keep me rather fit! Rachel’s GDC number is 83462

Biography: I am very excited to be a part of the dental team at NBTT. I qualified from the University of Birmingham with a BSc in Dental Hygiene and Therapy and have had a varied dental career thus far, working with the Armed Forces as well as with Specialist Departments both in private practice and the Birmingham Dental Hospital. I have had a great deal of experience dealing with both children and extremely anxious patients and love being able to provide a good dental experience for every patient. As a Dental Therapist I can provide a huge range of treatments, including hygiene therapy for gum disease, fillings, local anaesthetics, tooth whitening, as well as helping children by placing sealants and fluoride treatments to help prevent decay, and if necessary extracting or root filling baby teeth . I will be working very closely with Celia in order to provide the best dental care possible for all our patients. I admit to having a very peculiar accent which most people struggle to place as it is constantly changing. This comes from being born and raised in Canada and living all over Europe. I have lived in Norway, Northern Ireland, Germany as well as England! I have now made Birmingham my home but I enjoy exploring Britain. I enjoy walking in the countryside as well as exploring British cities, castles and palaces. I love travelling, and going on safari in Kenya was likely the most breathtaking experience yet!
