Our three physicians completed their studies with academic excellence at the most prestigious universities in Mexico, and performed clinical rotations in American hospitals such as John Hopkins Hospital and the Salud Family Health Center in Denver, Colorado.
In addition to our highly specialized medical services, we are ready to help you with accommodation and transportation during your visit, all for your comfort and safety (including pick up/drop off at the airport). Dr Ethel Guinto

Biography: Dr. Guinto is an experienced physician, specialized in ophthalmic microsurgery. Aftergraduating cum laude from Anahuac University, Dr. Guinto obtained herOphthalmology degree from the renown Conde de Valenciana Foundation and furtheredher studies with several certifications and two high-specialty postgraduate programs:Microsurgery of the anterior segment of the eye, and Cornea and refractive surgery.She’s performed clinical rotations at the prestigious John Hopkins Hospital, and theSalud Family Health Center in Denver, Colorado.Dr. Guinto is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons,the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology (PAAO) and the America Academyof Ophthalmology (AAO), among other institutions. She has presented research work atmedical conferences in Mexico, the United States of America, Spain and Denmark. Dr.Guinto has also written for multiple ophthalmic publications, such as the CanadianJournal of Ophthalmology and the Open Ophthalmology Journal.

Dr Rubén Medellin

Biography: Dr. Medellín is an ophthalmologist specialized in glaucoma. He obtained his medicaldegree, with academic excellence, from the National Autonomous University of Mexico(UNAM). After finishing his ophthalmic residency at the Civil Hospital in Culiacán, hecompleted a high-specialty postgraduate program in Glaucoma at the General Hospitalin Mexico City. Dr. Medellín has also completed curses in cataract, and cornea andrefractive surgery. He’s performed clinical rotations at the Conde de ValencianaFoundation as well as the Glaucoma Center of Excellence at the prestigious JohnHopkins Hospital.Dr. Medellín is a Member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), thePan-American Association of Ophthalmology (PAAO) and The Association forResearch in Vision and Ophtalmology (ARVO). As a researcher he’s presented lecturesat multiple conferences, including the World Ophthalmology Congress, the ARVOAnnual Meeting and the AAO Annual Meeting.

Dr Iván Castro

Biography: Dr. Castro is a highly trained, well-rounded ophthalmologist specialized inreconstructive and cosmetic oculoplastic surgery. He obtained his medical degree,magna cum laude, from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Hecontinued his studies in several fields before completing his ophthalmology degree atthe prestigious Conde de Valenciana Foundation. Dr. Castro completed a high-specialtypostgraduate program on Oculoplastic Surgery of the Orbit, Eyelid and LacrimalSystem. He also furthered his expertise with multiple courses and certifications, some ofthem from the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO).Dr. Castro is a titular member of the Mexican Society of Ophthalmology, as well as ofthe American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the Association for Research inVision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and the Pan-American Association ofOphthalmology (PAAO), among others. He has brief teaching experience at UNAM’sFaculty of Medicine and has presented research work at several medical conferencesincluding the Pan-American Congress of Ophthalmology in Colombia, and the Pan-American Research Day and the ARVO Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado. Dr.Castro has also written for various specialized, peer reviewed publications, such asArchives of the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology and ARVO’s official journal:Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science.
