Biography: Shee qualified from Bradford University in 1993 with a BSc in physiotherapy. She first worked at the Royal Liverpool Hospital from 1993 to 1995 where she gained a wide range of experience in all departments as a junior physiotherapist. She then went on to develop her neurological skills in various hospitals in the North West including Withington and Trafford. She then moved down to Birmingham to work as senior physiotherapist on the neurology, neurosurgery and neuro intensive care unit. Following a move back up to the North West 5 years later she spent 6 months travelling abroad to countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Canada and South America before having her two children. She now works part time as one of the advanced physiotherapists at the Haywood Hospital on the neurological rehabilitation ward and part time in private practice. She has completed the 3 week Bobath course as well as the advanced course and many workshops. She also has gained several modules of an Msc, the most recent being injection therapy allowing her to inject Treatment for Wrinkles to patients with spasticity. She is also trained in FES and EMG stimulation. She is committed to her continuing professional development and regularly attends training courses and keeps up to date with the latest research. She has worked with all types of neurological patients including stroke, MS, head injury and Parkinson’s disease and is committed to achieving patients’ goals and maximising their rehabilitation potential to allow the best possible quality of life.

Biography: She gained her BHSc (Hons) degree from Leeds University in 1997. She completed junior rotations in many areas of physiotherapy and then chose to specialise in neurology in 1999. As a senior neurological physiotherapist at North Staffordshire hospital, she completed rotations in rehabilitation, acute medical neurology, neurology, neurosurgery and neuro high dependency. During this time she also acted as a steward for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and as a clinical education coordinator for Keele University. She had a change of role in 2003 when she became a discharge coordinator for the North Staffs Hospital but in 2004 she returned to physiotherapy as an advanced practitioner in neurological rehabilitation at the Haywood Hospital. She currently works part-time in the NHS and part-time in private practice. She is a Bobath-trained therapist, as well as being trained in various other therapies to provide a mixed range of skills designed to meet your needs. Other therapies include acupuncture, saebo, facial rehabilitation, neuro-electrical stimulation (trophic, strengthening and functional orthotic use), lower limb biomechanics, body control pilates and dynamic stability/muscle imbalance. She has worked alongside Professor Anthony Ward (An international expert on spasticity management) for many years, which has provided invaluable experience. She has taught the European injection technique training course “B*******m Toxin Type A - For the Treatment of Localized Spasticity” Physical management and Neuroplasticity. In 2010 she gained a 75% masters module mark in injection therapy at Coventry University and has since injected Treatment for Wrinkles as part of the Haywood spasticity service. She has also attended World and European Congresses for Physical and Rehabilitation medicine. She is a member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), the Association of Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology(ACPIN), Therapists in MS (TiMS), Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and the Special Interest Group for Neurotherapists in Staffordshire (SIGNet).
