Refine Plastic Surgeons is a collective of surgeons with expertise in all fields of plastic surgery, decades of experience and hundreds of patients to our names. We are based in Edinburgh but frequently travel for surgeries, and have given talks across the world.

Biography: Hilal Bahia is a UK-trained, fully accredited (GMC) Consultant Plastic Surgeon, working in the Edinburgh plastic surgery unit with a special interest in breast reconstruction, skin cancer and burns. Educated in the UK, he graduated from The Royal college of Surgeons in Ireland in 1991, followed by a year as an Anatomy lecturer before completing his basic surgical training and becoming a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons in 1997. He undertook two years of research, gaining an MD degree and has published widely in the medical and plastic surgery journals. He completed his specialist training in Plastic Surgery in Edinburgh, and Glasgow (Canniesburn), and undertook an Oncoplastic/Microsurgical Reconstructive Breast Fellowship in Newcastle. He also completed a Cosmetic Fellowship at the Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery in London, working with Jan Stanek ('10 Years Younger','Plastic Fantastic'), Dai Davis and Nick Percival ('Plastic Surgery School, Extreme Makeover,' Make Me Perfect'), appearing in episodes of Channel 4’s ‘10 Years Younger’ and ‘Embarrassing Bodies’. He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), and has an interest in a wide range of cosmetic and aesthetic procedures including rhinoplasty (nose surgery), abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast reduction and augmentation, correction of prominent ears as well as facial rejuvenation with treatment for wrinkles and fillers. Outside of medicine, Hilal enjoys playing football, volleyball, electric guitar, saxophone and drums and has a keen interest in photography and fine art. He is also an Honorary Senior Surgical Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.

Biography: Graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 1990 and trained in plastic surgery in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sydney Australia and Newcastle. Having been awarded a higher surgical degree from the University of Edinburgh, he went on to win two surgical scholarships. The first concentrated on all aspects of breast surgery and was undertaken in the UK. Thereafter, a Royal College of Surgeons travelling scholarship took him to Atlanta, Georgia in the United States to a unit specialising in reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery. He completed a further fellowship specialising in aesthetic surgery in California, consolidating his experience in all aspects of cosmetic surgery including face lifting, eyelid rejuvenation, female genital reduction, body contouring surgery, breast surgery and liposculpture. As an NHS consultant, Cameron offers a specialist surgical service for patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer, whilst in the private sector, he concentrates on cosmetic surgery in all its forms and has extensive experience in the non-surgical management of facial lines. He is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and the Association of Breast Surgeons at BASO.

Biography: Having qualified in 1990 Ken spent the next 12 years training in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He undertook a rigorous Scotland based training programme and, in addition, specialist fellowships in London (Cosmetic Surgery), Sydney, Australia ( Facial Surgery) and Toronto, Canada ( Facial and Breast Microsurgical Reconstruction). He has studied ears with a number of famous surgeons from California, Europe and Japan. Ken has been on the GMC specialist register and working as a consultant plastic surgeon since 2002. He undertakes complex reconstructive surgical procedures in the NHS and receives referrals from all over the UK. His specialist interests in the NHS are ear reconstruction and fat redistribution. In private practice Ken undertakes aesthetic plastic surgery including facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty and otoplasty. He utilises his experience in breast augmentation, uplift and reduction surgery as well as tummy tucks and liposuction. He sings incredibly badly when operating but fortunately tries to stop himself when the patient is awake. He is regularly invited to lecture both in the UK internationally most recently in Beijing, China. He has authored or co-authored many papers in the Journal of Plastic Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. Recent works have included papers on breast reduction, abdominoplasty, otoplasty, fat transfer and liposuction. Ken is a full member of BAPRAS, BAAPS and most recently was invited to join the prestigious European Association of Plastic Surgeons.
