Biography: Daniel Gheorghiu is a Consultant Upper Limb & Trauma Surgeon at St. Mary´s Hospital on the Isle of Wight. Outside of the NHS Mr Gheorghiu consults from private rooms at The Mottistone, the Island´s private healthcare provider. He underwent specialist Orthopaedics and Trauma training on the Merseyside rotation in Liverpool and trained in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. He completed fellowships in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the „Centre of Excellence“ at the Wrightington Upper Limb Unit and at the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He is a Tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and teaches on the faculty of various training courses for healthcare professionals both nationally and internationally. He participates in regular multidisciplinary team meetings, journal clubs and audit meetings and also audits his own outcomes using Patient Related Outcome Measures (PROMs) to provide the best possible care for his patients. His clinical practice encompasses all aspects of hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder problems. He has special interests in minimal invasive surgery of the shoulder & shoulder joint replacement surgery for arthritis. His practice also includes the management of common disorders of the upper limb like frozen shoulder, subacromial impigement of the shoulder, AC Joint disorders, Carpal Tunnel syndrome, Cubital Tunnel syndrome, Tennis- and Golfer´s Elbow, Trigger fingers, Dupuytren´s disease, and Arthritis of the Hand and Wrist. In addition he offers consultations for Medico-legal cases.
