Biography: Dr Kinnear took over Silverbirch Medical Practice from Dr Majury on 1st October 2016. He completed his training in General Practice on the North Down Rotation working in both the Old Mill Surgery and the Webb, Stockman, Moffett Practice in Regency Medical Centre, Newtownards. Prior to that he completed training rotations in Paediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Ulster Hospital. Before training in General Practice Dr Kinnear spent time as Medical Manager at the regional Health and Social Care Board and was a Registrar in Acute Medicine with additional training in Intensive Care Medicine. As part of his training in Acute Medicine he has undertaken training posts in General Medicine, Acute Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, Cardiology, and Nephrology. While working at Regency Medical Centre Dr Kinnear trained in Minor Surgery under Dr Stockman, who is a GP Dermatologist, and in Joint and Musculoskeletal Injections under Dr Webb, Sports Physician and Medical Director at Ulster Rugby. Dr Kinnear has a special interest in sports and musculoskeletal medicine, minor surgery, and travel medicine. Outside General Practice Dr Kinnear enjoys spending time with his wife and son, walking, and sailing if he gets the chance!
