Biography: She graduated from Glasgow University medical school in 1995 with distinction in surgery. After gaining MRCP she trained in Dermatology in Edinburgh. During this period she undertook research as a Wellcome Trust funded clinical research fellow and published on the genetics of sun sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation. Having completed her specialist training in Dermatology in 2006 she undertook a 1 year full time Cutaneous Surgery and Mohs Surgery Fellowship in Newcastle. She is the only Mohs skin cancer surgeon working in the South East of Scotland. During this cancer fellowship she was as an anatomy demonstrator, teaching head and neck anatomy to undergraduate dental students. She remains an enthusiastic teacher.
