NedSpine, the spine surgery specialist.
NedSpine is an independent clinic for patients with back problems, in particular those with conditions such as spinal disc herniation, cervical disc herniation, spinalstenosis and spondylolisthesis. NedSpine specializes in the operative treatment of these conditions, valuing a fast, professional approach. The clinic is located in the municipality of Ede.

NedSpine is a registered Specialist Medical Care Centre (Instelling voor Medisch Specialistische Zorg, IMSZ in Dutch). This means that our clinic is an officially certified medical institution, recognized by all Dutch care providers.

Dr George Homminga

Biography: George Homminga studied medicine in Groningen, and specialized in orthopedic surgery in Maastricht. Cartilage transplants were the topic of his PhD, for which he received the Matthijssen award. In the Klein Rosendael clinic, Homminga became the first in the Netherlands to introduce endoscopic disc herniation surgery. He has now successfully performed thousands of these procedures. George Homminga has published in numerous international medical journals, and is an authority in the field of endoscopic vertebral column surgery.
Dr Dick Zeilstra

Biography: Dick Zeilstra studied medicine in Groningen, specialised in neurosurgery in Duisburg and completed his PhD in Cologne. Zeilstra worked for over 20 years at theNeurosurgical Centre (Neurochirurgisch centrum) in Zwolle, where he dedicated himself primarily to vertebral column surgery and to researching new technologies. Every year since 1998, Zeilstra has travelled to China for two weeks to perform surgery and provide instruction at a hospital in Rizhao. He has received various distinctions for these activities, including the International Medal of Friendship (Internationale Vriendschapsmedaille) from the Shandong Province, and the China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
Mr Hein Van Der Weijer

Biography: Hein van deWeijer studied medicine in Rotterdam, and specialized in orthopedic surgery in Nijmegen. He has worked in both large hospitals and specialized clinics, and in recent years has dedicated himself more and more to vertebral column surgery. Minimally invasive disc herniation surgery and spinal fusion techniques have become his specialist field. In medical circles, Van de Weijer is recognized as an expert capable of applying and refining the techniques involved in spinal surgery.

Mr Wee Fu Tan

Biography: Wee Fu Tan studied medicine at the University of Amsterdam. Upon completion of his degree course, he went on to train as a neurosurgeon at the same university (at the AMC). From 1993 to 1999, he worked in the neurosurgery department of the AMC and as a neurosurgeon at the Sint Lucas Andreas Hospital in Amsterdam. In 1999, he left the AMC to work at the Alkmaar Medical Centre as a general neurosurgeon. Until June 2012, in addition to his duties in Alkmaar, he also worked at Westfries Hospital, where he mainly performed hernia operations. Since 2001, he has paid annual visits to New Delhi, India, where he works as a guest lecturer and guest surgeon at the Indian Spinal Cord Injury Centre.
