Biography: A qualified physiotherapist trained both in Malta and the UK where Samantha completed her MSc degree in Sports Medicine including a research study on the treatment of Achilles tendinopathies. Her sports experience includes work with the Scarlets Rugby team in Wales, the London Marathon, the Malta Olympic Committee and the Maltese athletes at the GSSE games in Malta and Andorra, the Malta National Female Basketball team, and recently at the Athletes Olympic Village during the London 2012 Olympics.For the last 10 years she has worked with other physiotherapists solely in private practice at clinics in Harley Street and Sloane Square in London, where she treated a wide variety of conditions ranging from post-surgery physiotherapy, repetitive strain injuries and sports injuries. She has also worked with world-renowned dance companies including the Matthew Bourne dance company during their London tour of ‘Swan Lake’, and with the dance crew on set of the popular film ‘Streetdance’ while filming in London.Samantha is also a qualified Pilates instructor and uses Chinese-based acupuncture and trigger point dry needling therapy in conjunction with her physiotherapy treatment. She uses a very hands-on approach combined with specific exercise programmes for each client. Besides treating elite and amateur athletes with sports injuries, Samantha also enjoys treating musculoskeletal injuries specialising in the treatment of headaches, repetitive strain injuries, shoulder and ankle pain and antenatal and post-natal physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
