Biography: Dr Joanna Christou MBBS BDS (Hons) MJDF RCS is a dual qualified dentist and medical doctor. This has allowed her to become an advanced medical aesthetic doctor with a special interest in facial musculature, gained through her years of experience in both fields.She studied in oral and maxillofacial surgery at University College London Hospital, Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ School of Medicine and Dentistry, and Queen Mary University of London, gaining degrees with licence to practice in both medicine and dentistry. She added to her expertise at Harvard Dental School in Boston, MA and The New York University College of Dentistry.Dr Christou is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC no. 7410128) and the General Dental Council (GDC no. 113777). She is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and operates out of the Imperial NHS Trust surgical team whilst also being an appraiser for the Independent Doctors Federation. It is her unique knowledge of the structure of the face, combined with her training in aesthetics which has allowed Dr Joanna to create the in-demand signatory ‘natural look’ for patients.
