About Action Physiotherapy Ltd
Physiotherapists treat any problem related to muscles, joints, bones, nerves, ligaments and tendons. We treat any problem associated with the spine and also provide post-surgical/fracture rehabilitation. Physiotherapists use mobilisation techniques, manipulation, strengthening, stretching and Pilates exercises to treat injuries. We can also use acupuncture to treat musculoskeletal conditions.
Physiotherapists take a detailed history and use orthopaedic tests to diagnose a patient’s problems (in the same way as orthopaedic specialists would). If we feel your problem requires further investigation (e.g. an X-Ray or MRI scan) we will refer you on to the necessary specialist for this to happen. We will explain your condition and rationalise an approach to try to effectively treat it. Treatment will usually encourage the patient to take an active role (e.g. modify activities, look at work tasks/set ups, or do exercises) to help them self-manage their problems and to also focus on injury prevention and to decrease the chance of injury recurrence.

Biography: Wayne completed his physiotherapy training in Auckland, New Zealand in 1996. He worked in Private practice and provided physiotherapy services to local rugby clubs and the Auckland Rugby Union, whilst continuing to play rugby at a club level. Wanting to broaden his horizons and travel for a couple of years, Wayne travelled to the United Kingdom in 1999. It was then that he was lucky enough to meet Annelies, and decided to settle in the UK. Wayne initially spent 2 years working in NHS locum posts while travelling around the UK and Europe. This involved working all over the UK, including Ashford, Kent, London, Bristol, Hartlepool and Bedford before settling in Milton Keynes in 2001. In 2001 Wayne started working at the Blackberry Clinic in Milton Keynes and at the Devon Parade Clinic in Northampton. In 2006 we set up Action Physiotherapy Ltd, we left the Blackberry Clinic and started working in Stony Stratford from the Devon Parade Clinic (as well as continuing in Northampton as well). Whilst still keeping a keen eye on all the rugby results (especially the mighty All Blacks), a very dodgy knee stopped my playing involvement. Wayne now tries to keep fit at the gym and by cycling. He is also a keen golfer and is very interested in the mechanics of the golf swing and how this affects different body parts/injuries. Our 2 children take care of any spare time and we enjoy lots of different outdoor activities with them.
