About Active VIII

A multidisciplinary team of therapists treat patients at this primarily physiotherapy clinic located at Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. The team treats patients of all ages in a relaxing and friendly environment. All therapists are fully qualified and offer a high standard of service to patients. Services at the clinic include manual and manipulative physiotherapy, elite sports physiotherapy, the administration of injections to reduce inflammation and pain, biomechanical assessment and prescription of custom made orthotic orthotics and insoles, sports and therapeutic massage, instrument and hand assisted fascial release, intensive post injury and post operative rehabilitation, isokinetic testing, clinical Pilates, electrotherapy, massage, ergonomic and posture advice, clinical psychology and counselling.

Biography: MSc.,BSc.,MCSP.,MMACP.,DipTP.,DipManipTher.,PGCertEd.,DipInj.Ther.,CertPodolGeraldine qualified in 1976 from the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with a Diploma in Remedial Gymnastics & Recreational Therapy. In 1985 she became a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and attained a BSc degree in Remedial Science (biomechanics bias) in 1987 from Westminster University, London. She later went on to study at University College London, attaining an MSc degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy 1996. Prior to her graduation she worked at various teaching hospitals and spinal injuries centres in South Wales and Scotland. Following her graduation, she completed all of the major medical and orthopaedic rotations as well as specialist fields at Leicester General Hospital, a large teaching hospital. This provided her with a solid foundation in the core areas of physiotherapy. Geraldine went on to specialize in orthopaedics, major injuries and burns, taking on a senior role at the Birmingham Accident hospital. Following this Geraldine took up a senior and superintendent role, at two renowned Medical Rehabilitation Centres – Garston Manor MRC, Watford and Camden Road MRC in LondonIn 1987, Geraldine became a lecturer in physiotherapy on the BSc degree course at The Middlesex Hospital School of Physiotherapy, University College London. During this time she attained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (with distinction) from Garnet College Roehampton and further qualified with a Diploma in Teacher of Physiotherapy (DipTP) awarded by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Biography: BSc(Hons)Physiotherapy., BEd(Hons) Physical Education., MCSP., DipInj.Ther.Sarah qualified in 1995 from Brunel University with a high class 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. She was amongst the top part of her cohort in every clinical placement throughout her years at university.  She undertook her degree in  Physiotherapy, following a four year Batchelor of Education degree, also at Brunel University, for which she similarly acquired a high class 2:1. Following her graduation, she completed all major areas of medical and orthopaedic rotations at The Royal Berkshire Hospital, a large teaching hospital in Reading. This provided her with a solid foundation in the core areas of physiotherapy. Sarah went on to specialise in orthopaedics and musculo-skeletal physiotherapy, taking on a senior role in this field. Mrs Nerys Warner

Biography: Nerys Warner (nee Williams) qualified in 1999 from Kings College, University of London with a BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy. Following this Nerys undertook all major physiotherapy rotations at Epson and St Helier, covering outpatients, orthopaedics and respiratory care, medical, surgical wards and intensive care. This provided her with a sound foundation upon which to build her expertise.Nerys then took on a senior role specialising in NMSK Physiotherapy outpatients and orthopaedics. She then took on a senior role at Parkside Hospital in Wimbledon co-ordinatin the in-patient team alongside out-patient physiotherapy work. Here, Nerys also developed her skills in hydrotherapy, which she continues to use at Active VIII.
