Dr Maureen Bakken

Biography: She graduated from the U of A with a family practice degree in 1978. Her interests in dermatology have expanded to include evidence-based anti-aging medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine and the CPSA. In 2005 she opened a medical spa with the intention of providing Family Practice, Medical Dermatology and Cosmetic Aesthetics in one location. This allowed her to continue offering medical care to her long-term patients, many of whom have been with her since 1978. Dr. Bakken is especially interested in the challenging area of Medical Dermatology and Facial Rejuvenation and Reconstruction.

Biography: She have worked at Laser Derm and Wellness Centre since 2007 as a Clinical Aesthetician and Laser Technician. I have enjoyed offering many services such as IPL, skin resurfacing, microdermabrasion, chemical peels and assisting Dr. Bakken. I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Laser Derm for the past 9 years and helping achieve skin care goals to many patients. It is an honor to help all patients and it brings me great joy.

Biography: She had the honor of graduating from Marvel College, June 2015. During my training I was able to learn how to do services like microdermabrasion, pedicures, eyebrow/eyelash tinting, body treatments, makeup artistry and many more valuable services. I had the pleasure of being sponsored by the Laser Derm & Wellness team for my aesthetics practicum. I was ecstatic that Dr. Bakken hired me and I love working alongside her because I get to learn new things every single day. My favorite product offered here at the Laser Derm & Wellness Centre is the Jane Iredale makeup line. Not only is it an amazing mineral based line but it is also a true extension of skin care.
