Biography: MBSc Physiotherapy, MSc Manual and Manipulative Therapy ,Lead Physiotherapist Vicky is responsible for introducing new technology and treatment pathways to provide a state-of-the-art patient experience both before and after surgery at The Manchester Hip Centre. After graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree Vicky spent two years working in the NHS gaining general physiotherapy experience. She then moved into private musculoskeletal practice for seven years. Vicky joined Spire Manchester Hospital in February 2012 and shortly afterwards gained her MSc qualification. She brings to the Manchester Hip Clinic team a hands-on approach to patient management complemented with exercise therapy. She always strives to deliver the best quality of care.

Biography: BA, MB, BCh, BAO, FRCSI, MSc Orth Eng, FRCS (Tr & Orth) Consultant Hip Surgeon. | Honorary Professor, University of Salford A Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Manchester BMI, Professor Fehily specialises in surgery of the hip. He has a particular interest in young athletes with soft-tissue hip problems and also in complex hip reconstruction in older patients. Professor Fehily performs over 100 hip arthroscopy (keyhole) procedures each year - a surgeon with one of the highest annual volumes for this procedure in the UK. He also carries out large numbers of hip replacements, both first-time and revisions to existing replacements. His patients include younger people with childhood disease, older patients who wish to maintain an active lifestyle and patients who require revision of an existing hip replacement. He regularly treats high level athletes, from dedicated amateurs through to Commonwealth, World Championship and Olympic competitors. To complement the surgery, Professor Fehily has also designed a comprehensive rehabilitation program to help patients become fully active as soon as possible after their procedure. Medical background Professor Fehily studied medicine at Trinity College Dublin, completing his initial surgical training both there and in the UK. He underwent specialist orthopaedic training in the North West and has a strong interest in research and training. During his training, he gained a Masters Degree in Orthopaedic Engineering and published in the leading orthopaedic journals. Current activity Professor Fehily is currently orthopaedic clinical lead for research at his NHS hospital (Royal Bolton Foundation Trust) and is a member of the Regional Training Committee. As well as an Honorary Professor at Salford University, he is also involved in the teaching of hip arthroscopy to surgeons both nationally and internationally. He has undertaken fellowship training in both knee and hip surgery and has made a number of visits to internationally recognised centres, both in the UK and the US. He regularly attends national and international conferences focusing on advances in hip surgery.
