Biography: I began my career in sport and exercise physiology at Durham University, progressing to an MSc in Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). Since qualifying as a physiotherapist I have continued to be involved within a sporting setting, working with both adult rugby players and elite child footballers in injury rehabilitation and ‘prehabilitation’ (proactive prevention of injury/further injuries). Alongside this, I also work as a personal trainer where my aim is to prescribe tailored exercise regimes for all ages and abilities that can be completed with minimal equipment, and with as much enjoyment as possible.I have a keen interest in healthcare and currently also work as a physiotherapy researcher and associate lecturer at MMU. An important part of this role involves keeping myself and others updated with the latest evidence-based practice and guidelines. I am currently working towards a PhD in Physiotherapy with a focus upon chronic disease management and the role of exercise in health.I endeavour to provide a friendly and holistic approach to the assessment and treatment of a range of conditions and wherever possible, encourage the client to be actively involved in his/her management.
